GALVAGRID® PYLON™ re-galvanise electrical pylons and towers.

0,00

Galvanic coating for high-voltage towers and pylons, both new and existing, providing up to C5H-level protection.

The ambient-temperature GALVAGRID® galvanising coating uses a 99.995% pure zinc organic formula to create an active electrochemical bond with the base metal. Applied to telecom towers and electrical pylons, it forms a galvanic couple delivering a potential equivalent to hot-dip galvanising or doubles the lifespan of new galvanised coatings.

Description

Description

Re-galvanise at ambient temperature or double the lifespan of your new hot-dip galvanisation

The ambient-temperature galvanising coating, GALVAGRID® PYLONE™ Rust Anode Primer™, provides cathodic protection equivalent to C5H, C5HV, or CX standards, even in saline environments. GALVAGRID® PYLONE™ is used to either double the lifespan of new standard hot-dip galvanisation or restore aging high-voltage towers and communication antennas showing signs of rust, without the need for dismantling. This is what we refer to as ambient-temperature galvanisation.

This technology was exclusively utilised by NATO military forces from 1954 to 2003 under GALVATECH 2000. Since 2003, it has been widely adopted in the private sector, with numerous international references in energy, maritime, petrochemical, and transportation industries. SYNERDIS is the European representative for the electrical energy sector.

Advantages of GALVAGRID® PYLONE™

  • Not a paint: This galvanic coating enhances the self-healing properties of hot-dip galvanised coatings on metallic structures.
  • Highly resistant: It offers exceptional resistance to scratches, abrasion, and friction, unlike conventional paint-based coatings.
  • Flexible application: Can be applied in workshops or directly on-site.
  • Durable and adaptive: Accommodates thermal expansion and metal deformation without cracking.
  • Primer compatibility: Can be overcoated with most paint systems (primarily epoxies and urethanes), allowing it to function as a primer.
  • Perfect bonding: Integrates seamlessly with existing hot-dip galvanisation or metallisation, restoring the cathodic protection potential through ambient-temperature recharging.
  • Duplex system: Extends anti-corrosion protection up to C5H for new hot-dip galvanisation.

Use and maintenance

Before application: please consult us for personalised support and an operational GALVAGRID® application procedure tailored to your specific configuration.
SYNERDIS and SONEC provide assistance during the preparation phase as well as on-site implementation.

Each application is unique, but the basic rules for applying GALVAGRID® include the following minimum requirements:

  • Ensure the application surface is clean and free of zinc oxide, loose rust, corrosion (mill scale), oil, grease, or any other chemical contamination.

Application of GALVAGRID® PYLONE:

  1. Apply the GALVAGRID® coating directly to:
    • Existing galvanisation,
    • A metallised surface, or
    • Steel cleaned of all loose rust and mill scale.
  2. The product is ready for use and can be applied using:
    • A brush,
    • A roller,
    • A spray gun, or
    • An airless sprayer.

Responsibility for use:

Failure to follow good application practices and neglect to address site anomalies or defects is entirely the responsibility of the equipment owner.
